Originally this coffee was transported in barrels (as is Jamaican Blue Mountain). This is one of the oldest coffee growing regions in the Caribbean region. Coffee growing has been vastly reduced over the years by the intrusion of rural development.

This is a good way to buy coffee for special occasions, celebrations etc, or just to try something a bit different, but somewhat pricey for everyday drinking. We enjoyed the Guadeloupean coffee I ordered. Ordering was easy and delivery prompt.

I regularly order specialty coffee from different producers. I must admit The Love of Coffee is one of the best. This Guadeloupe Bonifieur is very difficult to find, very rare but exceptional coffee. Highly recommended. It's very mild and smooth with little acidity and great flavour of gentle cocoa, stone fruit and hints of lemon (undertone, subtle). One of the best I tried for this price. The aroma of grounded coffee when you open it is magical.
